First Weekend on the hill of 2015

The first weekend of 2015 saw members of the club enjoying the snow on different hills;
Saturday saw Kevin and team take their bikes past Auch farm to Beinns Mhanach and a'Chiurn.
Sunday saw Dunc and Alan C head to the Trossachs and Stuc a' Choirn.  While over on Loch Lomond Frank, Ian MacG and me (Allan H) took on Ben Vane.
The pictures below are of the Ben Vane team.

Wee Up-Hill ski day out on Geal-charn, last day out of 2014

Early start, make a plan up as we drive.  Decision head up the A9 and go for Geal-charn.  Lots of other people out on skis and a few on foot.

Always time for a wee second breakfast before we start.
Scottish skiing isn't alway easy

 Stag Bothy 20th Dec 2014

Pictured below are members of the Kyle Mountain Club on their Annual Christmas Bothy Trip.  This year

there was a last minute change of plan due to the poor weather forecast and it was decided to visit Stag Bothy near Aviemore rather than travelling further North.  The change of plan was a wise move as the walk into the Bothy was dry with plenty of snow around which added to the beauty of the area.

A Christmas Bothy trip is organised every year to get away from all the hustle and bustle that surrounds the pre-Christmas shopping.  It's a good excuse to get together somewhere remote, to relax and chat about the past years trips away.

Stanhope Bothy

The Alternative Christmas Bothy meet took place at Stanhope Hope bothy this weekend.
Beware of duplicate keys! - mine didn't work so instead of driving up to the bothy with 25kg of coal I ended up lugging it in from the farm. Its amazing how short distances suddenly seem very long.

We were all fully fed on a fine festive feast.

Day walk on Ben Arthur, The Cobbler.

First day out with the Kyle Mountain Club for a wee while. Great day started with a team talk over a roll and sausage in Arrochar. The original plan was shelved for a more leisurely day on the Cobbler.

Summer BBQ, Isle of Arran: 20-22 June 2014

Pictured above are members of the Kyle Mountain Club on their Annual BBQ weekend meet and this time it was held in a very sunny Corrie on the Island of Arran.

There is so much to do on Arran and with a good weather forecast it was very difficult for members to pick one activity.  Some members headed off to the hills and explored the excellent ridge walks that are on on offer on Arran and were rewarded with fantastic views.  A group of 4 went off rock climbing and quite a few members went cycling around the Island.

Everyone returned hungry and ready for the BBQ on the Saturday evening and fortunately along with the sun there was a sufficient breeze to keep the midgies away.
